Andrew Spanswick, CEO of KLEAN Treatment Center and his co-hosts Judah Friedman and Erica Spiegelman welcome Dr. Jason Coe. Andrew breaks down what “dual diagnosis” is and how it relates to addiction treatment. Andrew and Dr. Coe talk about the serious problem of reimbursement in psychiatry and how getting access to quality care is becoming increasingly difficult. Judah talks about the CAGE Questionnaire. Sally calls in seeking help for her son who is struggling with heroine addiction and Judah offers her son the opportunity for free treatment. A first time listener calls in to ask what has a better success rate; prescription treatment alone or treatment in conjunction with AA. Dr. Coe talks about how AA helps control the addiction but how therapy helps tackle the root of the addiction.
